We use a waterfall of sources to ensure maximum uptime and accuracy:

European Central Bank exchange rates — free and reliable
Server-side fetching every 5 minutes — no client API keys exposed
All price fetching happens on our server — your browser never makes direct API calls, which means no CORS issues, no rate limits, and prices are always available even if an upstream API goes down temporarily.
Our Journey
- Late 2024: GoldRateToday.xyz launched with focus on Pakistan gold rates — Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad city pages
- Early 2025: Expanded to Gulf countries — UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain — serving the large South Asian diaspora community
